Ron Viera is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Mortgage Evolution Management LLC. He has over 20 years of experience managing multibillion dollar mortgage and structured product portfolios. He managed a $9 billion proprietary portfolio as Chief Investment Officer (fa) and Chief Risk Officer for Luminent Mortgage Capital. Prior to these roles, he managed over $20 billion for the Federal Home Loan of Seattle as their Head Portfolio Manager. Under his leadership, the portfolio grew by over $15 billion. Prior to this role, he assisted in managing Fannie Mae’s $500 billion structured product portfolio as a trader, and valued over $1.3 trillion of mortgage credit as a senior quantitative analyst. He has nearly a decade of experience analyzing securities and managing portfolios at Prudential Securities, Merrill Lynch and Smith Barney. Some of the largest asset management firms, i.e. Aberdeen Asset Management, a $300 billion investment fund, have hired him to provide expert advice on investment and risk management. He holds a MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan, a BS in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a CFA.
Joe Kuriger is a Senior Adviser to the Fund. Mr. Kuriger has over 26 years of experience in finance, operations, treasury and accounting. He has been a Chief Financial Officer. He was a Senior Vice President at Luminent Mortgage Capital, a $9 billion, NYSE listed firm. Mr. Kuriger has extensive operations, treasury and accounting experience. He hold a MBA in Finance and a BBA in Accounting from Temple University.
